Noise Luna ring, a smart ring with health tracking features launched in India

Noise, India’s leading audio and wearable brand, launched its first smart ring—Noise Luna Ring—last week. The smart ring will allow users to track 70+ metrics, including sleep, heart rate, stress levels and activity.

While the price of the Luna ring and its release dates are yet to be announced, the prelaunch has taken the Indian wearable market by storm.

Let’s know more about the Luna ring and how it will suit the Indian market.

Noise Luna ring is powered by Philips Biosensing and is packed with various sensors, including a skin temperature sensor, infrared photoplethysmography (PPG) sensor and a 3-axis accelerometer.

It will support over 70 health and fitness-related metrics, including activity tracking, heart rate monitoring, sleep monitoring, steps tracking, stress levels indicators and blood oxygen saturation.

The Luna smart ring is a lightweight ring built on an optomechanical design.

While the inner shell of the ring is made up of hypoallergenic material, its outer shell is made of fighter-jet grade titanium, making it a good choice for rough use.

Users can track their data by connecting the ring with the NoiseFit app on Android and iOS devices.

The ring will be available in seven sizes and five colours—Sunlit Gold, Rose Gold, Stardust Silver, Lunar Black and Midnight Black.

While Noise hasn’t revealed complete details about the smart ring, the company says the ring will provide actionable insights that facilitate a transformative user journey. Let’s wait for further updates to get a clear picture of Luna ring features.

Will the Noise Luna ring beat its competitors?

Noise is a trusted audio and wearable brand in India with a loyal customer base. Its smartwatch has also been well-received in the Indian market for its affordability and stylish features. While some users complain about its fitness tracking features not being up to the mark with its competitors, the product is well-known among the budget-friendly consumer segment.

As the price and detailed features of the Luna ring are not revealed yet, it’s difficult to predict whether the ring will be a good value for money or have all features a fitness enthusiast will like. But given its popularity with other products, there’s a greater chance for the ring to outshine in the Indian market.

Parting words

With the Indian wearable market set to become the largest in the world, several companies have joined the bandwagon of building smart wearables.

Popular Indian wearable brands like BoAt launched its smart ring earlier this month, Ultrahuman launched its smart Ring Air last month, and there are rumours that Samsung is to launch its Galaxy ring next year.

While these smart rings might not offer what the bigger brands like the Oura ring and others provide, their affordable pricing attracts the price-sensitive Indian audience.
