LATEST FUNDING: Reliance Digital Health invested in Ratan Tata backed start-up Karkinos Healthcare

News Highlight: 

Karkinos Healthcare is an oncology-focused health platform backed by Ratan Tata and Tata Group. On 26th December 2021, the platform received an undisclosed amount of investment from Reliance Digital. Other major angel investors include Venu Srinivasan, Ronnie Screwvala, Kris Gopalakrishnan, Bhavish Agarwal, and Vijay Shekhar Sharma. Rakuten Medicals, the California-based global clinical-stage biotechnology company, also holds a minority stake in Karkinos. 

Previously Tata Group had invested Rs. 110 Crore Karkinos helped in the early detection and diagnosis of cancer. The company was founded by Venkataramanan R and co-founders Ravi Kant, Sundar Raman, Dr. Shahvir Nooryezdan, and Manish Thakkar. It was launched in July 2020 headquartered in Mumbai. Karkinos has its operations in Kerala and offers its services in Kothamangalam, Chottanikkara, Thodupuzha and Munnar.

Other recent fundings: 

Bengaluru Healthcare startup Innovaccer raised a $150 Million series E funding round, valuation at $3.2 Billion. The round was led by Mubadala Capital. Other notable investors included B Capital Group, Microsoft M12 fund, OMERS Growth Equity, Steadview Capital, Tiger Global Management, Whale Rock Capital Management, Schonfeld Strategic Advisors, Avidity Partners, and Dragoneer. Innovaccer has raised a total of $375 Million in this investment.
