The CES 2023 Innovation Awards program is held every year to honour outstanding design and engineering in consumer technology products. While CES Innovation Awards cover a multitude of categories, we’ve listed the latest and greatest in digital health technology. Several companies and products were recognized for their contributions to the field of digital health or health tech.

Best of Innovation CES 2023 Award winner in the Digital Health category

The AeviceMD by Aevice Health 

The AeviceMD is a smart wearable stethoscope that uses AI to detect abnormal lung sounds associated with diseases like asthma and COPD. The sensor continuously and passively analyses chest sounds and logs the measurements onto a user-friendly app, allowing doctors to make expedited and informed clinical decisions anytime and anywhere.

Digital Health CES 2023 Innovation Awards Honorees

Aloe Care Health was recognised for its Smart Hub 2, a personal emergency response system that allows for voice-activated communication with emergency responders and caregivers.

Crdl was recognised for its human-centred interaction device that creates meaningful connections between people with physical or cognitive impairment and their caregivers.

SOVN was recognised for its in-ear wearable that detects and reduces excessive teeth grinding and clenching.

Starkey was acknowledged for its Evolv AI line of hearing aids designed to focus on the impact of hearing on overall health and wellness and offer a user-friendly experience.

CELLiCO was recognised for its electronic eye technology. Its device helps patients with visual impairments recover their vision.

Variowell, a German start-up, was awarded for its mattress topper that adjusts the heat level of the mattress based on your health and body heat to give you the ideal temperature to sleep on.

Munevo was recognised for its innovative wheelchair head control. A wheelchair that uses built-in sensors to translate head movements into control signals to provide a comfortable and less stigmatising control system for people in wheelchairs.

Opteev was recognised for ViraWarn, its breath analysing device that tells if you have Covid-19, RSV, or influenza within 60 seconds.

10Minds Co. was rewarded for its Motion Pillow, a snore-sensing pillow. The product consists of a pillow and a drive unit called the Motion System. It recognises when the user snores and injects air into the airbag built into the pillow, reducing snoring noise.

MINDLiNG by 40FY, Inc. was awarded for its online therapy platform that uses heart rate variability detected by a smartphone camera to measure stress and resilience, providing psychological assessments and an all-digital therapy program for the user.

Abbott’s Alinity m Monkeypox PCR Test was recognized for its ability to detect monkeypox in labs globally, run up to 20 assays at one time and deliver 300 results every 8 hours.

The Aveir™ Single-Chamber (VR) Leadless Pacemaker by Abbott was honoured for its unique mapping capability to assess the correct placement of the device before final implantation. It also has an increased projected battery life that can last two times longer than other commercially available leadless pacemakers.

Abbott’s Proclaim™ Plus Spinal Cord Stimulation (SCS) System was recognized for its ability to relieve chronic pain and improve quality of life by sending mild electrical pulses to the nerves along the spinal cord. Their FlexBurst360™ therapy can be adjusted as a person’s therapeutic needs evolve.

AliveCor was awarded for its KardiaMobile Card, a compact and lightweight personal ECG device the size of a standard credit card. It can detect six common arrhythmias in just 30 seconds, giving users the convenience of monitoring their heart health anytime, anywhere.

Alphabeats was awarded for its patented, non-invasive mental training method that uses an EEG headset to guide brain activity by dynamically adjusting to a user’s brain state to improve athletic performance.

BioButton by BioIntelliSense was acknowledged for its remote care solution that automates vital sign collection and enables workflow efficiencies for healthcare workers. The solution includes the BioButton wearable device, BioHub gateway connectivity device, BioCloud data analytics engine and FDA-cleared clinical triage software.

Bioxonics Inc’s Blood-based in vitro diagnosis system was recognized for its ability to provide information on Alzheimer’s dementia with over 90% accuracy using a patient’s blood sample.

BLISSTECH’s Machine Vision Bedsore Management Mattress (SMARTBM) was honoured for its ability to prevent and manage bedsores among senior citizens.

ANSSIL’s Sleepinbody Mattress was awarded for its ability to provide personalised sleep solutions by collecting the user’s body and sleep behaviour data and adjusting firmness and temperature accordingly.

EyeFit, a machine Vision for Eye Health Care by Hanyang University, is recognized for its ability to quickly and accurately analyse eye movements through machine vision and AI technology. It provides patient-specific data and management options with 98% accuracy.

Candibell, Inc’s Truthbrush Connected Oral Care system was honoured for its innovative solution that attaches to any toothbrush and passively maps the brushing routine for improved personal performance and creates an oral health eco-system that connects people, providers, and payers.

CareGuide by CarePredict was awarded for its AI-based solution that uses wearable technology and machine learning to provide real-time insights into the care needs of seniors. It allows caregivers to address potential health and psychological issues before they become critical.

DoctorNow, Korea’s first telemedicine and drug delivery app, was awarded for its help with accessibility issues in medical care by providing online consultations and medication delivery within 30 minutes.

Droplette, a connected handheld device, was awarded for its topical drug delivery using micro-mist technology for painless absorption.

H2-BP24 by Charmcare was awarded for its ultra-compact medical-grade blood pressure monitor that allows for 24-hour monitoring of a patient’s daily life through ABPM function.

CONNEQT Pulse by CONNEQT Health was awarded for its dual blood pressure and complete arterial health monitor that provides deep and personalised insights into clinically relevant arterial health indicators using FDA-cleared technology.

Everyday Care Bidet by Coway Co. was awarded for its bidet with user recognition, fingerprint recognition, PPG sensor, BMI sensor system and IoT function that suggests health management solutions for improved satisfaction.

Cell Reveal by CytoAurora Biotechnologies was awarded for its single cell capture, isolation and analysis technology that uses AI to quickly identify target cells for precision medical diagnosis, stem cell or new protein drug development, and CDMO industry.

Dexcom G7 CGM System by Dexcom, a wearable device, was awarded for its advanced tech that automatically and continuously measures and sends glucose numbers to an app or receiver without fingersticks, scanning or calibration and connects with various insulin pumps, pens, and digital health apps.

ADHD BANK by DNA Corporation was awarded for its AI-powered DNA data solution to assist physicians to diagnose and predict ADHD.

What was new in CES 2023?

CES 2023 was different from previous years as it had to adapt to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, leading to a shift towards a more digital and virtual experience. Despite the challenges, the event managed to attract numerous exhibitors and attendees with a focus on AI, smart health, and the metaverse.

The show showcased cutting-edge technology, such as virtual reality headsets, robots, and smart health devices. There was also a notable increase in the number of exhibitors, with over 3,200 companies showcasing their products. Overall, CES 2023 demonstrated the resilience and adaptability of the technology industry in the face of the pandemic and highlighted the latest technological advancements.
