Imagine the transformation that can happen when the power of artificial intelligence meets the smartness of wearable technology. It can enable real-time continuous health and wellness monitoring anytime, anywhere. Health checkups will no longer be a once-in-a-while activity but can take place every moment.
This is going to be the new reality with the Binah.ai and Polar partnership.
Binah.ai is the leading smartphone-based vitals monitoring software that can measure 8+ health vitals using your smartphone camera. Polar Electro is the pioneer of wearable sports tech and the inventor of wireless heart rate monitoring.
These two category leaders, powerhouses of innovation, have joined forces to revolutionise the continuous health monitoring landscape.
Armed with Polar’s state-of-the-art wearable devices, Binah.ai’s cutting-edge AI software is here to ensure you have the best, most personalised and seamless health experience.
Let’s explore the Binah.ai and Polar partnership and how it is going to transform continuous health monitoring.
The Binah.ai and Polar partnership
Binah.ai recently announced its partnership with Polar, where the combination of Binah.ai software and Polar Verity Sense sensor will allow continuous monitoring of vitals and biomarkers.
These include blood pressure, heart rate, heart rate variability, respiration rate, sympathetic stress, parasympathetic activity, pulse-respiration quotient and a wellness score. The best part is—all these vitals will be monitored non-invasively and at an affordable cost.
How does Binah.ai software work with Polar Verity Sense?
Polar Verity Sense is a wearable heart rate sensor that uses photoplethysmography (PPG) to measure optical heart rate. Binah.ai software development kit (SDK) connects to the Polar Verity Sense sensor, via Bluetooth.
Once connected, the SDK will receive and analyse the raw PPG signals from the sensor to deliver the essential vital signs measurements. The results will be delivered on the Binah Connect application Powered by Polar.
Organisations can either connect the Binah SDK to their app or onboard their users on the Binah Connect app.
Why did Binah.ai choose Polar over other wearable devices in the market?
First, let’s understand why Binah.ai was looking to partner with a wearable device.
Binah.ai is an AI-powered smartphone-based SDK which organisations can connect to their apps to provide vital signs monitoring.
However, it requires users to click selfies and 30-second selfie videos to monitor the vitals. While this is attractive and doesn’t require specialised equipment, it doesn’t help with continuous monitoring. Prompting users to take videos multiple times a day may become tiresome and hamper user experience.
As a result, Binah.ai started looking for wearables that can help it provide continuous monitoring. Here are the features it looked for:
Binah.ai evaluated over 30 devices, and Polar Verity Sense was by far the best form factor they found.
How does this partnership address major challenges faced by continuous health monitoring systems?
While continuous health monitoring enables early detection and proactive preventive healthcare, improves patient outcomes and reduces healthcare costs, it grapples with several challenges.
Here are the major challenges faced by continuous health monitoring systems:
- Data accuracy and reliability: It is crucial to make informed medical decisions.
- Data privacy and security: It is paramount to safeguard sensitive health information.
- Seamless user experience: The devices must be comfortable, easy to use, tough and easily integrated into users’ lives.
- Support users from various industries: Several manufacturing industries don’t allow wearables like rings, watches or jewellery for safety reasons. The device must be such that it can be used in such environments.
- Affordability: The device and technology must be affordable for a larger population.
How Binah.ai and Polar partnership addresses these challenges:
#1 Extensive research validated by patents and peer-reviewed studies
Binah.ai and Polar have conducted numerous studies to validate their technology and hardware. These studies have been conducted in-house and in collaboration with external medical labs and academic institutions.
#2 Data is stored in the user’s cloud
Sensitive medical information collected by Polar’s device is transferred to Binah.ai’s software for analysis and results. These results are either stored on the user’s device or directly in the organisation’s cloud. Therefore, neither Binah.ai nor Polar has any access to user data, mitigating privacy and security concerns.
#3 Improved user experience and accessibility
Polar Verity Sense is a comfortable device that can easily be worn by users. Unlike chest straps, smartwatches or rings, Verity Sense is an armband worn above the elbow. It can be worn in the manufacturing environment, healthcare setting and remote monitoring with ease.
#4 Affordable
Polar Verity Sense is a $90 device, which, when paired with Binah.ai’s software, is affordable for most organisations. For organisations looking for cheaper versions, Binah.ai and Polar are working to integrate the technology with the Polar OH1+ device, which is planned to launch by the end of 2023.
Potential use cases of Binah.ai and Polar partnership
The Binah.ai and Polar partnership has extensive use cases in several fields. Here’s a case study:
LiveWell by Zurich: Health and wellness monitoring
LiveWell by Zurich, a global health and wellbeing solution, used the duo’s technology and has seen amazing results with its customer base.
Binah Connect powered by Polar allowed LiveWell to provide continuous health and wellness monitoring on its app. LiveWell further guided the users to resources and expert-backed recommendations based on their results. This helped LiveWell provide a personalised health experience to their users.

Future plans for Binah.ai and Polar partnership
The companies have plans to further the partnership by:
- Integrate Binah with Polar OH1+ for a cheaper continuous health monitoring option (with limited features when compared to Polar verity sense)
- Bloodless blood tests (non-invasively measure haemoglobin, haemoglobin A1c, Cholesterol) by Q4 2023
- Use Polar Verity Sense for fall detection, sleep analysis and other health and wellness metrics.
- Get FDA approval for blood pressure monitoring and, eventually, make Binah Connect from home healthcare to medical care with clinical accuracy.
