Key insights, startup highlights, investment trends, and networking opportunities from Europe’s leading medical device conference.
Medtech Innovation summit 2025 Dublin

Last week, Dublin buzzed with more than just spring energy—it became the beating heart of Europe’s MedTech scene.

From April 29 to May 1, the historic Shelbourne Hotel hosted the MedTech Strategist’s Innovation Summit 2025, drawing over 500 leaders, investors, and trailblazing startups eager to shape the future of healthcare.

Ireland: Europe’s Medtech Powerhouse

Dublin wasn’t chosen by chance. With Europe’s MedTech market expected to reach $148.30 billion in 2025, the continent is a force in medical innovation.

Ireland, in particular, has earned its reputation as a top-tier MedTech hub, boasting a strong ecosystem ripe for development, partnerships, and commercialisation. That made it the perfect launchpad for this high-stakes summit.

Three days of big ideas and bold conversations at Innovation Summit 2025

The Innovation Summit Dublin 2025 zoomed in on what really matters for medical device companies worldwide—from immediate challenges to future opportunities.

The agenda was carefully built to help attendees navigate today’s market while spotting tomorrow’s transformative trends. It was part strategy, part crystal ball, and all action.

Connecting innovators with investors and strategic partners

One of the summit’s standout features is its laser focus on building meaningful connections, from dedicated networking to business partnering sessions.

Handpicked emerging medtech startups got ten sharp minutes to pitch their innovations to investors and potential collaborators. Afterwards, the action moved to private breakout rooms, creating space for real conversations and real opportunities.

Insights from industry leaders and visionaries

It wasn’t just about deals and demos. Beyond the standard company updates, the summit featured hard-hitting panel discussions led by industry veterans from Philips, J&J, Medtronic, and more.

Topics ranged from acquisition strategy and funding trends to market access in the U.S., with key insights from Lee Fleisher, former CMS Chief Medical Officer, on navigating Medicare and commercial reimbursement.

Learning from thought leaders and engaging in timely discussions

Visionary keynote speakers kept the room buzzing with fresh thinking. Maria Sainz’s talk, in particular, resonated deeply, emphasising the importance of “listening and sniffing around” to uncover true market needs.

It was a great reminder that while data is key, staying close to real-world problems drives great solutions.

Leveraging tech for seamless networking

To streamline meetups, the summit used a dedicated partnering app, making it easier for attendees to book meetings and maximise FaceTime with the right people. It was networking with a purpose.

Showcasing the best of Medtech start-ups

Over 40 high-potential startups took the stage with ideas to shake up MedTech. From smart diagnostics to next-gen implants, these pitches were more than impressive—they were glimpses of what’s next for patient care.

STENTiT takes centre stage

One of the biggest wins of the week was STENTiT. It clinched top honours at the MedTech Innovator Roadshow, beating out 40 finalists selected from 1,400+ applicants.

Their win secured a coveted spot in the 2025 MedTech Innovator Accelerator, the leading global nonprofit program for medical device, diagnostic, and digital health startups.

Over four months, the accelerator will provide the startup with specialised mentorship, networking opportunities with investors and industry leaders, and prominent visibility at key medical technology events.

Plus, a ticket to major events in California and San Diego. Their calendar and future just got a lot busier.

What industry leaders are saying

Magnus Ahlström, Director of Business Development at Hydrix, summed it up perfectly: “There’s great energy here. Everyone’s talking about real problems—and real solutions.”

His key takeaways:

  • Funding is (slowly) thawing, but investors still want bulletproof business cases. If you are pitching, your solution better solve a real problem and stand out.
  • Global uncertainty is not going anywhere. Between economic swings and trade tensions, the money flow stays unpredictable, even as breakthrough tech keeps generating buzz.
  • Maria Sainz’s keynote drove home a key point: Founders need to “listen and sniff around” (love that phrase) to grasp real-world needs. Data’s essential, but so are boots-on-the-ground insights.

And perhaps most importantly, the mission hasn’t changed: This space is tough, but the impact is worth it.

The final word: A defining moment for Medtech innovation

This wasn’t just another conference—it was a catalyst. The MedTech Innovation Summit Dublin 2025 functioned as an exceptional industry gathering which propelled swift advancement within both European and worldwide medical technology fields.

Visionary startups rubbed shoulders with industry titans, while investors and strategists connected over solutions that will define the next decade of healthcare.

The summit brought the Medtech ecosystem together in one powerful room, creating the conditions for growth, collaboration, and serious momentum. If you care about the future of MedTech, this was the place to be.
