Here’s the hard truth: healthtech funding is not as great as it was. As Rubén Domínguez Ibar, a VC investor, puts it, “Fundraising in 2025 is brutal.”
While healthtech startups raised $29.2 Bn in 2021, the numbers have dropped ever since. 2022 saw $15.7 Bn. In 2023, the numbers dropped to $10.8 Bn. And in 2024, the numbers touched $10.1 Bn, according to Rock Health.
Investors have become pickier about the type of startups they want to invest in, funding rounds take longer to complete and more startups are competing for investor attention.
Does that mean funding is nowhere? NO.
Deals are happening. And startups can crack them if they target the right investors.
That’s the reason Luis Llorens Gonzalez and Rubén Domínguez Ibar have curated a list of selected startups actively raising right now. From their list of 130 startups, 18 (24%) are healthtech and biotech startups.
