It is rightly said that the first step in fully achieving a goal is to make ourselves and others aware of all aspects related to our goal. This is what we will be doing today with this article: making ourselves and our readers aware of the mission of global health and all of its aspects. We’ll also talk about how one such organization is at the forefront of this goal, doing everything it can to promote global health. And, by the end of this article, I am confident that you will be more than ready to contribute to this world-changing mission.

What is Global Wellness Institute?

A 501(c)(3) non-profit organization called The Global Wellness Institute (GWI) is leading this mission with the help of its research and initiatives. Its mission is to empower wellness worldwide by educating the public as well as the private sector about preventative health and wellness. GWI’s programmes and research initiatives have aided in the growth of the USD 4.5 trillion wellness economy, as well as in bringing together the health and wellness industries.

This wellness institute in Miami, Florida is growing as a result of its five pillars, which are Research, Initiatives, Roundtable Discussions, Wellnessevidence.com, and The Wellness Moonshot. The institute educates and connects key stakeholders who can have an impact on our planet’s and its citizens’ overall well-being. It makes all valuable information and resources available for free, allowing anyone, anywhere, to access them.

The Mission and Vision

GWI’s mission has always been to empower and promote wellness organizations by facilitating collaborations, providing global research and insight, sparking innovation, and advocating for growth and sustainability, allowing them to become a recognised wellness authority and resource for businesses and organizations dedicated to ensuring the optimal well-being of our planet’s citizens.

Industry Research

The Institute’s research is accurate and timely, focusing on the $4.5 trillion wellness economy and its ten sectors. On the institute’s website, you can find all of the material from various researches done by the institute up to this point, whether they are related to the Covid-19 pandemic or the Mental Wellness Economy, and it is all organized by topic, sector, date, and region.

Wellness initiatives

One of the pillars on which the Institute works is initiatives promoting wellness and health around the world. As a result, it supports several initiatives that contribute to the global conversation about wellness in all of its forms. Each GWI initiative is led by an initiative chair, who is a well-known thought leader in his or her field. Global initiatives such as AESTHETIC HEALTH INITIATIVE, AFRICA WELLNESS INITIATIVE, BREATHE INITIATIVE, CLEAN WATER INITIATIVE, DIGITAL WELLNESS INITIATIVE, MENTAL WELLNESS INITIATIVE, WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP INITIATIVE, WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP INITIATIVE, WOMEN IN LEAD All of these initiatives’ data can be found on their website. If you want to connect with an initiative, you can also fill out a form.

Wellness Evidence

The institute launched the first-ever website dedicated to providing direct access to current medical evidence for mainstream wellness approaches. Wellnessevidence.com makes it easier for the millions of people seeking alternative health solutions to research and evaluate wellness alternatives at the most authoritative sources of evidence-based medicine by providing access to thousands of clinical studies evaluating the effectiveness of approaches ranging from chiropractic to weight loss.

Wellness Moonshot

As we are all aware, President John F. Kennedy issued a challenge to the United States in 1962 to land a man on the moon. JFK’s ambitious goal once viewed as a monumental effort and a huge leap, had a huge impact on innovation and popularized the term “moonshot” around the world. As a result, GWI is employing “MOONSHOT THINKING” to fulfil our purpose as thought leaders and to set long-term goals with greater urgency. This Wellness Moonshot was launched in 2017 to bring together global wellness enthusiasts, ranging from doctors, researchers, and advocates, to eradicate preventable diseases around the world. You can participate in the Moonshot Initiative. Until now, the Moonshot has had an impact on 4636 organizations and individuals, as well as more than 15 million people worldwide.

Roundtables

Every year, this institute organizes international roundtables to create a forum for discussion and to catalyze action on the most pressing issues in the wellness industry. These events bring together business and thought leaders from the medical, beauty, science, business, technology, research, media, fitness, workplace wellness, spa, hospitality, and retail worlds to help shape the $4.5 trillion wellness industry’s future.

Support Global Wellness Institute

There is no need to be concerned because you can also be a part of or contribute to the cause of GWI. You can help them by donating and supporting them by going to their website and clicking on the Make a Donation tab. You can also become a GWI ambassador, which plays an important role in advancing its mission to empower wellness globally. You can also sponsor their industry research, participate in the Wellness Moonshot Challenge, or even collaborate with them. Whatever you decide to do will always contribute to their larger cause.

As a result, The Global Wellness Institute is doing everything it can to achieve the goal of global wellness through all of these initiatives and discussions. You can also become a member of their wellness family to expedite the process.

Global Health Estimates by WHO

The World Health Organization’s Global Health Estimates (GHE) provide the most recent available data on death and disability worldwide, by region and country, as well as by age, gender, and cause. They provide critical insights into mortality and morbidity trends to aid in informed health policy and resource allocation decisions.

The most recent data cover global and regional trends from 2000 to 2019.

According to the estimates,

  • Noncommunicable diseases have become more prominent, with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, as well as diabetes, entering the top ten in 2019, while communicable diseases have declined, with both HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis dropping out of the top ten.
  • In both 2000 and 2019, ischemic heart disease was the leading cause of death, and it is now killing more people than ever before.
  • Lower respiratory infections were the leading cause of communicable disease deaths in both 2000 and 2019, even though the total number of deaths from lower respiratory infections has decreased.

As a result, WHO estimates assist us in understanding not only how people die but also how people live, which is equally important in assessing the effectiveness of health systems and facilitating timely and effective decision-making. Furthermore, such data can assist in focusing the responses of multiple sectors, ranging from transportation (to address road traffic injuries) to food and agriculture (in addressing the rise in diabetes prevalence and other nutrition-related illnesses) and mental health support (for early detection of mental health conditions and increased access to treatment and care).

Effect of Technology on Global Health and Wellness

As the world continues to develop and change, new technologies have been introduced to help improve the health of the human population. While each new technology has its advantages and disadvantages, they are all able to work together to help improve the health of our global community. The use of social media, telemedicine and other health tools have proven effective at providing care to patients in a variety of ways. In addition to helping people get access to better health care, they also help doctors and nurses learn new skills.

Improvements to healthcare have significantly improved general health conditions across the globe. From the invention of X-rays to MRI scans, there has been a steady advancement in medical technologies. Diseases that were once fatal or incurable have become treatable and even curable (e.g., HIV/AIDS). These advances in healthcare are due to technological advancements in treatments and diagnostic techniques.

Access to information about personal health has also improved due to technology. There is more knowledge available online than ever before about how individuals can take care of themselves physically, mentally and emotionally (e.g., health blogs). People can now find information on dieting, exercise routines and other topics that help them make healthier choices every day.

There are also some negative impacts on global health as a result of technological advances. For example, the rise in technology has led to an increase in sedentary lifestyles

But, there is no way for us to solve all of the world’s problems in one day—we must work together as a society for progress towards solving these problems to occur over time.

Conclusion

So, in conclusion, we would like to state that, following the worldwide pandemic, promoting global health is the need of the hour, and The Global Wellness Institute is expanding its efforts and programmes to educate, innovate, and empower. This mission is critical for all of us to thrive. It contributes to the larger cause in which we are all involved. After reading the above information, I hope you are more than determined to assist in achieving the goal. We can accomplish a lot as individuals simply by sitting at home. This process can be accelerated with the click of a button.

So, join hands in this initiative, and don’t think about how much of a difference one person can make, because you alone can make a big difference, just like the others have. It is our responsibility to educate the public, share valuable resources with key stakeholders, and convene leaders for roundtable discussions that foster growth and change. We do this so that we can all work together to make the world a healthier place, where wellness inspires people to live better lives.

As a result, these are just a few of the ways in which this philanthropic organization has promoted health and wellness around the world. And there will be more in the future.
