Let’s find out how Health Basix ensures every child has access to quality healthcare within their school environment.
About Health Basix
Health Basix is a leading provider of comprehensive healthcare services in schools founded by Swathy Rohit, Vishnu Prasath and Ramesh Krishnan in March 2021. It aims to address the healthcare needs of students by connecting them to healthcare providers within school premises.
The founders recognised the inadequate healthcare attention received by school-going children and made it their mission to prioritise student well-being and ensure optimal physical and emotional development.
Health Basix addresses the challenges faced by the paediatric population of over 150 million students in India. It eliminates the hassles of long queues, physical health record maintenance and visiting multiple service providers. Connecting families with necessary care by partnering with schools, its paediatric health platform and family health app streamline the paediatric healthcare approach.
Within three months of its launch, Health Basix made significant progress by onboarding over 100,000 families. The platform has also forged partnerships with 90+ schools and 150+ hospitals and clinics nationwide.
Health Basix funding: The bridge funding round
Health Basix recently announced the successful closure of its bridge funding round, hitting another milestone in its journey to address child healthcare needs. The round was led by healthcare visionary Dr GSK Velu and Callapina Capital, with participation from renowned investors Sapphire Ink Ventures and Super Morpheus.
The startup plans to leverage this funding to expand its operations and reach more schools across India. By scaling its presence, the company aims to bridge the healthcare gap in educational institutions, ensuring that even underserved communities have access to high-quality healthcare services.
The investors expressed their excitement at investing in Health Basix’s mission. They applauded Swaty’s passion towards providing the necessary care and the startup’s innovative approach. Here’s what they said-
“Ensuring the well-being of children is of utmost importance, and I believe that Health Basix’s innovative approach will bridge gaps in accessibility, affordability and quality of care for young patients.”
– Dr GSK Velu.
“One of the biggest challenges in healthcare is that we do not have a continuous record of our health. We have bits and pieces of information, which are scattered, and it ends up being a very transactional experience with healthcare providers. Health Basix is solving this with a digital health passport and building the largest nationwide healthcare provider for schools in India.”
– Callapina Capital.
Prior to this, Health Basix had raised its seed funding round in 2021 from renowned investors Raj Mishra of Indea Capital, Dr Anantha Nageswaran of Aavishkaar Venture Capital and other HNIs.

Parting words
Health Basix is a promising paediatric health platform in India that prioritises child health by creating a supportive environment that enhances students’ well-being and educational outcomes. While it has achieved notable success, there are challenges ahead in terms of reaching underserved communities and overcoming systemic barriers.
It operates in a complex healthcare landscape, and its ability to bring lasting change will depend on factors like funding, scalability and collaboration. With further progress, it has the potential to transform paediatric healthcare, but the true extent of its impact is yet to be determined.
